Short description
PhotoKifu is an Android app that turns a photo of a Go (baduk, weiqi) board into an SGF file. Recognition runs on the phone, offline, with no account.
Long description
Go players often copy positions by hand, after a club game or from a book. PhotoKifu does it with the camera. The app finds the board while you aim, then a neural network on the phone finds the black and white stones on 9×9, 13×13 or 19×19 boards.
On the review screen, the player fixes any point with a tap and chooses who plays next. Positions are saved in a library and can be exported as SGF to OGS, Sabaki, KaTrain or KataGo tools.
The app has no internet permission, so photos never leave the phone. PhotoKifu first came out on iPhone in 2013 and was rewritten in 2026, starting with Android.
